Unconquered love

I love that the moon hasn’t sold itself out
It has that allure
A body without air
Without water
No leaking taps
Nothing for us to pollute

I love its steely blue
Silvery shadows on my veins
One elusive moment it lights up my breasts
As I undress softly near a window
As I feel each breast
And its unequal-ness

And then it no longer shines
I respect the moon’s tantrums
In a crowded world
Darkened by us
