Carnivore Mother
In rare cases, female foxes have been known to eat their own offspring. Although several theories exist, the exact cause of this behavior remains unknown.
The teeth of female carnivores
Must be removed at the roots
Of the family tree.
Each diseased leaf excised
Leaves identical chromosomes
To be reabsorbed into the blood
Some aggression is genetic,
And the venom remains
No matter how often it’s expressed
There are only vaccines
For known poisons
And mothers are always mysteries
Daughters cannot be inoculated
Until the bark is scratched
From the trunk of legacy.
When the foxes are running
Chasing their own tails
And cutting their feet on mulch
If any one of them stops
Then so do the cells copying
each generation of names.
