Silence and Words

 
Every time, we met,
you grafted silence
on the fast spreading branches
of my words.

The mutilated words
found a new sprout
to reach you.

I wish…
I wish to graft
some words
on the branches
of your silence
to save our story
getting buried
anonymously.

Tejaswini Patil is the author of Talons and Nets, which has been translated into Romanian and appeared in English-Romanian bi-lingual form. She is a trilingual poet writing in Marathi, Hindi and English. Her poems have found place in various journals and Anthologies from USA, UK and India. Recently, her poems were selected for the Rio Grande Valley International Poetry Festival in Texas, US and are published in the Boundless 2018 Anthology.
Presently, she is working as an Asst. Professor in K.R.P.Kanya Mahavidyalaya, Islampur, Maharashtra, India.
