Chronicles of Renaissance
Yesteryear, when we, your sons
Came to the village-square with machines
Made from the jaws of Apes
So as to exile the god of obsoleteness
You, our people, protested, stoned us with angst,
Diatribes, yoked in atoms of language
After, you all dug up the grave of Adam,
Ground his bones into molecules, powders, &
Sniffed them in defiance, so you could own his countenance
An original. A god
But does the breathing of collagen fibres, hydroxyapatite,
Obviate the decay of the Stone Age?
Does the idiom in your folktales strengthen your raffias,
Mudstones, shrines, hindering the coronation of civilization?
Why then do you hinder the blueprint of the future
With your voodoos wrapped under the swathe of culture?
