Weaving A Morning Tapestry

On the corner of 42nd and 8th
a man waltzes
into the middle
of the street
legs wobbling
like strings
arms flapping
like bony wings
he is tethered
to the surface
of the earth
by passersby
who give him
weight and purpose
meaning and direction
as he spins
round and round
weaving himself into the
tapestry of their morning.
